PLAGA

PLAGA

Plaga is a manga/anime-inspired clothing brand that sought services in redesigning and redeveloping their online store. The main goals of this project was to give a visual rebrand of the website to be more recogniseable and consistent to the client's branding, make product management easier through CMS integration and third party plugins allowing the entire store to be managed through Shopify and finally adding a blog for product teasers.

The Problem

PLAGA came to me for a website design project aiming at redesigning and redeveloping their current website that was made by the owner. Several issues that were discussed during our discovery call was the lack of responsive features & a time consuming product management (due to the limitations of the website builder that was used) and lack of visual consistency and hierarchy. Below is a summary of the main key points that me and the owner aimed at tackling, as we worked closely together to achieve this project's success:

  • Improving Performance through designing the website in a structural and customer converting manner

  • Implementing Ecommerce integration with Shopify and third party plugins so the website would be able to be purely managed from the Shopify Dashboard (This was a key issue that was raised in our discovery call as each page had to be redesigned for a new product to be uploaded)

  • Integrating an Updates section into the website through the use of Framer's CMS features

  • Providing a stable & functioning contact page for any customer requirements

  • Designing & building an Accordion menu for any FAQ that customers may have about the products or shipping process

One major improvement with this new website project was creating a more consistent & recognisable layout and structure. As this entire branding and business model is deprived from manga, I made sure to keep the page in a greyscale colour palette, as that's how manga is drawn in.

Integrating Frameship into the website allowed for the products to be managed entirely from Shopify, which improved not only managing the products of the website but also consistent design through each product card.

The blog is also managed by Framer's CMS, so adding blog posts was easy and the design of each blog page was kept consistent and accurate.
